Kilindi Hotel, Zanzibar
A Paradise Not Lost But Rediscovered
The very mention of the spice island of Zanzibar seems to stir the soul in much the same way as it has done for travelers down the ages the ages.
The Indian Ocean’s best kept secret is now becoming one of the world’s most desirable destinations for those travellers who understand that the rarity of what is waiting to be savoured.
The island’s history is indelibly stamped centuries of trade with merchants seeking such spices as cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and saffron, all of which would be bought and transported by sailing boat to grace the tables of the Arabic elite.
It is this middle-eastern heritage as well as recent influences from European colonialists that have created a mix of architecture and culture that is both surprising but also unique.
With dhows drifting along the translucent turquoise sea and the murmur of the fishermen as they haul in their daily catch, the sights and sounds of Zanzibar are a feast for the senses and a reminder that the island is a much like a time capsule that remains largely unopened.
Kilindi - lying on the northwest coast of the island - reflects all that is wondrous of Zanzibar’s heritage.

15 eastern-styled domed Pavilions nestling amongst a 50-acre tropical garden are the perfect and intimate retreats for each and every guest.
The Pavilions have their very own private plunge pools, and possess extraordinary wet rooms with radiance showers that truly give the feeling of being at one with nature.
The interiors of Kilindi remain faithful to past whilst contemporary features proving the perfect partner. A falling water bar overlooks a large 25-metre infinity pool which itself affords views out across the sparkling warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
